Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 3:11 AM

According to Dale's Cone of Experience, direct purposeful experiences have great impact in the teaching-learning process. It leaves a big marks to student's learning. Direct purposeful experiences are firsthand experiences which are the foundation of learning. They are very rich experiences that are being perceived by our senses and used in constructing ideas and concepts. Its implication to the teaching-learning process is to give student our students opportunities to learn by doing. Let us immerse our students in the world of experience. Another is let us make use of real things as instructional materials for as long as we can. Let us also help the students develop the five senses to heighten their sensitivity to the world. And lastly we should also guide our students so that they can draw meaning from their firsthand experiences and to elevate their level of thinking.

The teacher should not only stuck to the concrete but rather bring up the students to higher level of generalization, abstraction and higher level of thinking process.
